Inuyashiki Last Hero

Saw a random scene from Inuyashiki on Facebook. It was a gruesome terror “bang” scene. It intrigued me as to how could any anime work with such a concept, was he a villain or anti-hero. Is he dreaming or just playing GTA. That led me to watch the anime. Turns out its a classic good vs evil story arc with alien technology. It has quite a few unique scenes, that make this anime worth a watch.

V for Vendetta

My Friend in college had a poster in his dorm portraying a Guy Fawkes mask with a heading “Ideas are bulletproof”. It was a dialogue from V for Vendetta. this film contains many such moving dialogues and even better action, direction and acting to go with it. The Protagonist, Guy in the mask, is Hugo Weaving, the same guy whom I absolutely loved as a villain in Matrix. The Story was so good, I actually read the graphic novel (comics). I haven’t even read any mainstream super hero comics, but I read V for Vendetta because of this movie. And I must say the movie is much more refined, polished than the comics. Many of the scenes are shot for short re-enactment from comics, and they are awesome. Must watch for everyone, quite rewatchable too.

Parasite

The very first Bong Joon ho film I remember seeing was The Host. It was a film about parasites. So Naturally I assumed Parasite to be similar, however this film is not about the literal parasites. Its actually two movies, a heist movie of sort and a horror movie, packed into one, with a very abrupt transition which everyone will love. I’m sure everyone would have heard about how great the movie is. The trailer shown here is full of the words “Masterpiece” and “The greatest movie of the decade” which is sort of true, a little over hyped for sure, but great watch no less.

12 Angry Men

I do love a good Trial Drama, but rarely do we see it from a jury’s perspective. We have seen great arguments from great Lawyer’s like My Cousin Vinny, but never have I even seen any other movie where there are arguments about a case within the jury. 12 Angry Men is 64 years old and is still fresh and relevant, not really into black and white movies but I have rarely seen a bad movie whose whole premise takes place in a single room without a break. A real masterpiece with interesting characters.
